The already great LaForge module has been treated to a slight upgrade to its hardware.
The original version has proven to be extremely popular. Its combination of receiver and spectrum analyser enabled the user to pick the channel with the least interference for use. Other features include the ability to scan the airwaves for a friend’s channel. This avoids the difficulty of switching channel on the stock fatshark module (those bloody dipswitches to change bands!).
More recently Shea and Bruce have also made VTx’s specifically designed for use with the LaForge module. These VTXs have adjustable power outputs and even an LED Strip you can attach to them. Which change colour depending what frequency you are on. (which seems cool but a little pointless).
This latest version contains a few smaller changes. Firstly it uses buttons instead of a rocker switch in order to change channels. In addition you can now use the inbuilt buttons on the fatshark goggles to alter settings for the receiver. We think this is great, as reaching to find fiddly buttons on the module can be difficult. Whereas the inbuilt buttons are easy to locate most of the time, even when ‘under the hood’.
We expect this upgraded version to compete with the other competitor modules such as the FuriousFPV True-D and the Fatshark Diversity module (although its not actually true diversity).
