New – Cobra 1806 2800kv Brushless Motor

Been looking to super charge you 180 build? Well cobra now have the answer with these new Cobra 1806s. These are the first sub 22xx motors which Cobra have made. It is real testament to the new popularity of 180s that even the top motor manufactures are now building 1806s.

Previously seen as ‘beginner’ motors 1806s are currently experiencing a renaissance in terms of popularity. Many pilots hoping to switch to 180s have found 1306s too weak and 2204s too hefty. The answer is the middling 1806s. the problem previously however has been the chronically low kv of these motors and it is only recently that manufactures have started increasing kv on motors as the hobby moves away from high voltage to high kv, especially on lighter quads were weight & power>efficiency in terms of priorities.

Cobra say :’The Cobra 1806 series motors have a 3.0mm shaft for extra strength, as well as oversize ball bearings to support the shaft and provide a long life. The stators are made with 0.20mm laminations for maximum efficiency and minimum Eddy Current losses. Since these motors are typically soldered directly to the speed controller to save weight, the 1806 motors come without bullet connectors and feature pre-tinned motor leads. These motors also have a cross mount built right into the back plate for easy installation on your model.’
