http://skylinemediainc.com/?pokakal=opcje-binarne-co-to&d64=15 RotorX is a relatively new player in the world of high end consumer multi-copters but that hasn’t stopped them from shaking up the industry. They can do this because they fly,  they tinker, and they improve. RotorX was started by hobbyists and engineer friends.  Arguably their hottest and most anticipated product is their Atom micro fpv quad V2. Atom V1 has been out for nearly a year and the hardcore individuals have already sung its praises as groundbreaking and industry leading. Nearly everywhere is now suitable for invigorating stick time. The v2 opens up that same quality to the average and emergent hobbyist. The nearly 600,000 page views on rc-groups for the Atom thread, and the $118,000 raised through Indiegogo, certainly stand strong as support of the assertion that they are bringing to market what consumers want. They are doing it through a partnership with Armattan Productions.

The V2 comes with a wealth of options and perks, so that the consumer can tailor their own experience. One need not look far for nightmare scenarios regarding crowdfunded multi-copters but such fears need not be applied here. It boils down to people and the team at RotorX are solid and focused. In revamping their perk packages during the campaign they showed their true colors and motivation. Their goal: get as many people in on the ground floor for the best deals possible. They endeavor to do nothing short of bringing high end components and products to the masses for a universal quality experience. It used to be that you needed a range of skills to play in this arena far beyond piloting. You needed to know how to select components, how to set up flight controllers, how to solder, how to download drivers and get FC’s to interact with computers, and how to tune.  Armattan productions and RotorX are flipping the script so that if you can fly you can have access to the best.

In addition to offering a highly regarded transmitter option the Atom V2 has the distinction of being a true and powerful micro. Build options available will easily be under the 250 gram weight limit requiring registration. Those who wish to fly without registering with the United States Government will have the option to do so without sacrificing any performance or functionality. The 250 gram limit was arrived at resultant from a study on falling object lethality. It was concluded that an object less than the 250 gram AUW would be less lethal if a catastrophic failure causes the model to plummet from the blue heavens, so flyers can also access a clear and safety oriented conscience with this coveted multi-rotor.

Atom V2Weighs less than sticks of butter

The future for our hobby in regard to model aviation is certainly a bright one.  With a flourishing partnership between Armattan Productions and RotorX “beyond the sky” is the limit! The released energy from their splitting the atom together will reverberate throughout the hobby.

  1. Red20RC in Australia has offered this service for about 18 months now and there are plenty of others who do the same.
Offering to manufacture one-off designs for people isn’t exactly new or “game changing”.

    • We realise that this is not an industry first, especially for manufacturers like Red20 and Armattan which have been cutting in house for a while. Its just interesting to see who will be CNCing the new Atom, and its nice to see RotorX giving the CNC to a company in the hobby, rather than just exporting to china like many of the big frame designers do.

      • My apologies. The original announcement of the Armattan service heralded it is unique and would revolutionize the industry. However I realize that this is not what your article is about.
I am very happy to see this collaboration as I am constantly dismayed by companies who claim to be manufacturing frames in the States/Australia/Wherever, when in fact they are simply repackaging plates cut in China by the same factories that cut the clones of their own designs.
Hopefully this will set a positive trend in the industry…

        • This is what we are hoping will happen as well. If community frame designers and community manufactures work together than the overall benefit for everyone in the hobby is far greater, and the frames are often better value and higher quality. You guys at red20 for example have some of the highest quality and best value frames out there, and it also allows you to garrentee your products as you know they have been well manufactured. I think one of the reasons people like Soma at ImpulseRC have to charge so much is because they get so many duds from china, and then get ripped off when they make a clone (the Martian).

We at Drone Insider are currently working on building a custom CNC machine for Carbon Fibre which should hopefully be up and running by summer and mean we can start cutting frames the UK area as well.

      • Michael Mattingly

you do realize that all of the armattan stuff comes from china right? go ahead and order one then wait 2 weeks to get your package from china too.

        • Hey there,
As far as we know they lease a facility and have their own tech running the CNCs. They spend more on tooling and cut slower than many other shops do. For alumi, rubber, plastic and PCBs, we contract that out. We have ordered from him before and the packages do not come from china. Are you sure you weren’t ordering a third party part like FC, ESC, or motors?

  2. Anything from Armattan Productions or Armattanquads, com most certainly comes from China. His only US distributor is RCCrazed.com
